ENERGY BARGE Privacy Statement

The aim of the ENERGY BARGE project ( is to increase the deployment of biomass for energy production in the Danube region. For this purpose we offer an online platform (, which aims to present key actors and best practice examples from the Danube region. Furthermore, the platform will connect stakeholders from the bioenergy industry, ports and logistics service providers along the Danube waterway as well as relevant public authorities and policy makers.

We want to empower users to gain access to relevant information in order to connect with important other parties and business contacts. In all of this, we respect and maintain the value of privacy and data protection, and we give users the ability to control their data.

This Privacy Statement explains how the ENERGY BARGE project and its online platform collect and process data. It is valid for the duration of the project as well as for the hosting of the platform after the project through the project partners BioCampus Straubing GmbH, via donau - Österreichische Wasserstraßen-Gesellschaft mbH and DIT – Deggendorf Institute of Technology.

What kind of Data does ENERGY BARGE collect?

The ENERGY BARGE project aims to provide and present relevant information regarding the biomass and bioenergy landscape of the ENERGY BARGE project partner countries (Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria) and the use of the Danube waterway for biomass transport. To achieve this, you can register as a company to be presented on the platform. Only the data of your registration is collected, processed, stored and shared among the project partners. It will be used for presenting you in lists and on maps, so that others may find you as a key actor on the platform.

We accept only general information of companies for registration. No personal data is collected.

How we use your Data

ENERGY BARGE uses the data we collect to achieve the objectives of our project. The main objective of the online platform is to create a visual representation of companies from the biomass and bioenergy sectors as well as logistics service providers along the Danube River.

Your data will be used for this online presentation and for internal general analyses and evaluation, e.g. number of entries from specific sectors/countries etc.

Furthermore, the data will be used for a printed map.

We accept only general information of companies for registration. No personal data is collected.

How we share and store your Data

The tasks of the project are undertaken by various partners. Therefore, we share your data with your consent among the 15 involved project partners during the duration of the project.

After finishing the project, the online platform is hosted by the DIT – Deggendorf Institute of Technology and maintained by BioCampus Straubing GmbH and via donau - Österreichische Wasserstraßen-Gesellschaft mbH. These partners will still access and process the data for keeping the online platform up to date. The data is only used for the purposes of the project.

The project is co-funded by the European Union. As such we are by law obligated to share and report project data to the Danube Transnational Programme. After finishing the project, your data will be stored in accordance with the laws and guidelines of the Danube Transnational Programme.

How to access and control your Data

You can view, edit, or delete the data that you entered through registration, at any time. For changes of this data, we will send a link via email to the provided webmaster address to offer access to the stored data. If you wish to delete your entry, you can send an email to

Technologies & Cookies


By using the online platform, your web browser will send information to our web server. During an active communication of your web browser with our web server the following data will be recorded:

  • Date and time of the access to the website
  • Title of requested file
  • The web site from which an accessing system reaches our website
  • Access status (e.g. file transferred, file not found)
  • The web browser type and version, display resolution, systems software
  • Complete Internet Protocol (IP) address of the accessing system
  • Transferred data volume

Protocol files, in general, will be stored for a maximum duration of 30 days.


The online platform uses a Session Cookie, which is active for the session and which expires immediately after closing the web browser.

The XSRF-Token is automatically generated for each active user session managed by the application. This token verifies that the authenticated user is the one actually making the requests to the application. It protects from Cross-Site-Scripting and has a lifetime of 120 minutes.

If you do not wish to allow cookies to operate, they can be deactivated in the settings of your web browser.

The online platform uses also the Google Analytics Cookie. For further details please refer to our Legal Notice.

If you use an email address provided by your employer or another organization you are affiliated with, please make sure that you are granted to provide the information, e.g. by your employer. We only accept general webmaster email addresses of companies.
