The BioCampus Straubing GmbH is a regional business support and development agency focused on the biomass sector. It also runs a regional network comprising 107 partners (R&D, enterprises, supporting institutions) and markets Straubing as “Region of Renewable Raw Materials”. BCG is a subsidiary (governed under private law) of the “administration union port Straubing-Sand”. It manages a 220ha industrial park, a start-up center, the BioCubator Businesscenter for Renewable Raw Materials, and owns the Danube port Straubing.
Given its own and the partners’ expertise in the realm of bioenergy and biomaterials, the availability of biobased resources as well the existing infrastructure of the Danube port and the BioCubator, BCG works towards profiling the region as a bioeconomy site and developing the (macro)regional development concept “Green Chemistry Belt”.
